Anders Christian Madsen, Fashion Critic at British Vogue
One of few in a new literary generation of fashion editors, Anders Christian Madsen joined British Vogue under Edward Enninful OBE in 2017. As fashion critic, he serves as chief reviewer on seasonal women’s and men’s collections and works on the magazine as well as its platform for trend analysis and forecast.
Applying his informed point of view and knowledgeable approach to fashion, Madsen has advised and consulted on establishment houses in both the women’s and menswear sectors, as well as authored material for brands. He side-lines his work by supporting emerging designers and sits on the selecting committees for the British Fashion Council’s NewGen and International Fashion Showcase grants for young fashion businesses.
Based in London, Madsen – who was raised in Denmark – graduated from the London College of Fashion in 2009 after which he joined i-D as fashion writer under Terry Jones MBE. In 2015 he was appointed fashion features director of the magazine under Holly Shackleton. Next to British Vogue, Madsen has written for a number of leading newspapers and fashion titles.
