Sarah M Richardson, contributing Fashion Editor at British Vogue and Fashion Director at Document Journal.


Richardson first immersed herself into the world of fashion by working as head window dresser for the renowned Browns boutique in London.


She went on to collaborate with Hussein Chalayan on his first collection, "Buried". Here, she realized her passion for the industry and decided to launch her career as a stylist, assisting for 4 years before going freelance.


In 2000, Richardson launched her freelance career and started to work for the iconic i-D magazine as a contributing Fashion Editor. From this platform, she was also able to launch her creative direction and consultancy career. Her first key position was with Preen in 2002, with whom she collaborated for a decade, providing both creative consultancy and show styling.


Her unique style and visionary approach, coupled with her vast knowledge of fashion history, saw her quickly become one of i-D’s most innovative, modern and versatile stylists. In 2013, Richardson was appointed as i-D’s Global Fashion Director, a position she held until 2014.


Alongside her extensive editorial work, Sarah has styled numerous runway presentations and advertising campaigns including Lanvin, Roberto Cavalli, Jimmy Choo, Calvin Klein, Jil Sander, YSL Beauty, DKNY, Erdem and Rochas.
